1-800-HATLINEBLING

When hat season's in full swing, that can only mean one thing...wearing more hats. This was the caption to my latest Instagram post, which inspired me to write this blog post on how to style hats for fall. Hats are the accessory equivalent to Drake's hit single, "Hotline Bling," which has taken over the music world. I jam to it on Spotify 24/7 and it's the unofficial soundtrack to Boston's city streets. I can't count how many times I've heard the song blasting from someone's car stereo. Similarly, I have seen a lot of hats both on the street and on social media and blogs. It's safe to say stylish headwear is dominating the world of fashion right now and I say hats off to that!

I am a hat lady. My hat collection keeps growing. Fedora, floppy, bowler, beret, beanie; nothing is off limits when it comes to my obsession. I buy most of mine from Forever 21 and H&M as I find they have the best selection for the best price. Why pay a lot for an expensive hat from Rag and Bone or Free People when you can find them for a fraction of the price at these fast-fashion superstar stores? H&M and Forever 21 know how to make quality headwear.

I've put together a few outfits to show you how I style my favorite hats this time of year. I hope this gives you a bit of inspiration.

That Bowler Hat

Jacket: Zara | Sweater: H&M (similar) | Skirt: Tj Maxx (similar) | Hat: Forever 21 (similar) | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff | Shoes: Sam Edelman | Necklace: Tiffany & Co.

When it comes to my personal style, the outfits I love to wear most are classic and simple with a modern twist. I think this look is the perfect balance of fashion from the past and present. A leather jacket, flouncy black skirt and knit sweater are always in style. The leather ankle boots and structured mini bag make the outfit on trend. The standout piece is the burgundy bowler hat. I bought it last year  at Forever 21 and it has become one of my favorite hats in my growing collection. My look wouldn't be complete without some red lipstick to tie everything together.

Coven

Jacket: Zara | Skirt: American Apparel | Sweater: Forever 21 (similar) | Shoes: Gap | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban | Earrings: Topshop

I feel like I'm in a coven when I wear this outfit. Something about it just gives off a witchy vibe, which is perfect for October. I love styling my American Apparel tennis skirt this time of year. It looks great with a leather jacket, turtleneck sweater and loafers. Wearing all black gives me joy, ironically enough. Perhaps I really am in a coven...

Leopard on Denim

Top: H&M (similar) | Skirt: Topshop | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff | Sneakers: adidas | Earrings: Topshop

I've always been a lover of leopard print. Now that it's fall, I can finally start wearing it more often! I paired my favorite leopard print crop top from H&M with my Topshop button up denim skirt and adidas Superstars for a casual look that's perfect for running errands and heading to class. I'll be spotted wearing a lot of leopard this season.

Campus Chic at College Fashion Week...Again!

Dress: Zara | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff

I attended Her Campus College Fashion Week Boston last year and I was happy to go again this year on Saturday, October 3rd. It was held at a different location than last time, but still just a quick walk from my Emerson College campus. I headed over to Space 57 at the Revere Hotel and stood in a very long line of fellow fashionistas eager to get inside. It was going to be a stylish evening.

The event featured cute little kiosks before the fashion show including a yummy Custard Bar provided by Shake Shack, a Jamberry DIY Nail Art Bar, a Browfection Bar by European Wax Center and an "Accessorize Yourself" photo booth courtesy of Simon Malls. There was even a performance by the up-and-coming artist, Teenear. Of course, my favorite part of the night was watching the fall looks come down the runway. Shoutout to Lord & Taylor for providing the clothes and accessories featured in the show.

The show focused on trends like '70s Boho and Feminine Minimalism. I love how a lot of looks had a retro feel yet were still modern and cool. Fur, fringe, leather, texture and statement making prints were the fashion focus. Browse my favorite looks below!

This is how to do all white. Playing with textures and hues is key.

Another girly all white look. Love the layers.

This vest and playsuit look is lovely.

This crochet dress and fringe vest combo is so boho chic.

Faux fur and paisley is just fabulous.

Obsessed with the denim shirt and faux fur wrap combo.

Chelsea, (@itstrendychelsea on Instagram and blogger at trendychelsea.com), killin' it in a Chanel-esque gray dress.

Love this blue, white, black and gray color scheme. That coat is too cool.

This long leather skirt and plaid button down look is perfect for fall.

Red plaid is rad.

I want this fringe leather jacket.

Dress, bag, Converse. Everything about this look is on point.

I love a good black and white striped sweater and leather skirt.

It wouldn't be College Fashion Week without the swag bag.

College Fashion Week Boston 2015 definitely gave me some fall fashion inspiration. Now I want more fringe and fur in my life!
