Bits of Style x Bed Bath & Beyond

Summer is in full swing and so is back to college season. Can you believe it's almost August? I'll be entering my junior year at Emerson in Boston this fall, which is even harder for me to believe! Everyone who told me college goes by fast was right. Even though I have two years behind me and am used to college life, I always look forward to the annual dorm shopping trip. It's the time where I pick up a few things to give my dorm room a refresh. One of my favorite stores to go to is Bed Bath & Beyond, who so kindly sent me a gift card to spend on my city space. When I was shopping for college as a freshman, my local Bed Bath & Beyond was the first stop. I bought many items from the store which I still have today: a desk lamp, shower caddy, towels, bath mat, slimline hangers, storage, Command Hooks, and more. Their products truly stand the test of time. I can always find exactly what I'm looking for at this one-stop shop.

I got some major dormspiration in Bed Bath & Beyond's bedding section. This black and white bedding set is fun and city-chic. I love how it's covered in postcards from cities all over the world. I was so inspired, I decided to do some interior decorating in store! I covered the bed in unique throw pillows and found a vintage looking trunk that would be perfect for storing spare linens and bath towels. What's great is this bedding set and a whole host of others come in Twin XL, which isn't always easy to find. I purchased the city skyline euro sham as it too perfectly suits my Boston home. I  also ordered a Boston themed throw pillow online.

The last item I bought at Bed Bath & Beyond is a clothing rack, which has been on my wish list for ages. It's practical, portable, and will clear up precious closet space. I love the idea of displaying my favorite pieces in my wardrobe for aesthetics. After all, fashion is art. I plan to hang only black and white clothes on it, as my dorm room and sense of style are monochromatic. I'll be sure to write a dorm tour blog post when I am back at Emerson.

Whether it's your first year of college or your last, there's something for every student at Bed Bath & Beyond. Shop my picks below!

Seas the Day

Bodysuit: Topshop | Skirt: Forever 21(sold out, similar here) | Sneakers: Adidas 'Stan Smith' | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff | Choker: Brandy MelvilleWatch: Daniel Wellington | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

Newburyport, MA is one of my favorite towns to visit. It's fun to spend the day walking around, stoping by all the cute shops, and going out to eat at charming restaurants and cafes. The view down by the waterfront is incredible too. It's relaxing to sit and watch the boats with a gelato from Dolce Freddo in hand. If you live in the Boston area, Newburyport is well worth the trip.

For my day in Newburyport, I wore an outfit featuring all of my favorite summer trends: bodysuits, denim skirts, lace-up details, chokers, mini bags, and sneakers. I chose all black clothes and accessories, with the exception of the pop of light wash denim, to give the look a cohesive vibe. Dressing monochrome makes the trendy pieces seem more classic. This casual look captures my current style perfectly. Seize (or "seas" if you're seaside) the day, one outfit at a time.

With Bells On

Top: H&M (sold out, similar here) | Shorts: Zara | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff (sold out, similar here) | Sandals: Sam Edelman | Watch: Michael Kors

I'm here for summer...with bells on! Bell sleeves are one of my favorite summer trends. They're so '70s and give any look a relaxed, boho vibe. When I found this one at H&M, I had to get it. I was instantly drawn to the unique blue, geometric print. My Zara denim shorts are just the right shade of blue to compliment the colors in the blouse. I chose gold sandals and accessories and broke out my blue Rebecca Minkoff bucket backpack to tie it all together. This casual look is ready for any summer adventure.

Americana

Dress: Topshop | Sneakers: Adidas 'Superstar' | Hat: '47 Brand | Sunglasses: Ray-BanWatch: Michael Kors

I hope you all had a festive and fantastic 4th of July weekend! I celebrated at home with my family. We went swimming, had a cookout, and watched the "Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular" on TV, a tradition in our house. In between the festivities, my dad, sister, and I went on an adventure to the abandoned diner in our hometown. It's been closed for a few years and the building looks like something you'd find on Route 66. It has a retro, Americana aesthetic that was the perfect backdrop for my red, white, and blue look.

I would wear this outfit on any summer day, but it was especially fitting for the Fourth. I paired my Topshop navy blue and white stripe midi dress with Adidas 'Superstars' and a Boston Red Sox cap for a casual, patriotic vibe. What's more American than baseball?! I accessorized with a gold watch and Ray-Ban 'Clubmasters' to shield my eyes from the scorching sun. Of course I couldn't forget red lipstick to tie it all together. My heart beats true 'neath the red, white, and blue!

Summer Stripes

Dress: Brandy Melville (sold out, similar here) | Denim jacket: thrifted (similar here) | Sneakers: Adidas 'Superstar' | Bag: Rebecca Minkoff | Choker: Brandy Melville (sold out, similar here) | Watch: Daniel Wellington | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban

It's summer and I'm wearing stripes! This knit skater dress from Brandy Melville is one of my go-tos for hot days. Paired with an oversized denim jacket and white sneakers, it's an easy outfit that looks put together. Honestly, the denim jacket and dress combo is perfect for practically any occasion. I accessorized with staples of mine: a structured mini bag, Ray-Ban 'Clubmaster' sunglasses, Daniel Wellington watch, and black velvet choker. At this point, any outfit of mine is incomplete without them. Summer and stripes were made for each other.
